Each recipe in this publication come from a family cookbook that my grandmother put together. She typed out the recipes herself and added comments that ranged from tips for improvement (half blood prince style), or personal opinions on how she or the family liked the food. Cookbooks are nothing without the experiences of the people involved, so all the recipes in this cookbook either include the original comments or are written in the same casual nature

All the images used were taken in the computer lab where my graphic design class experienced the majority of our academic stress.

COOKBOOK DESIGN
This publication is an investigation into the relationship between food and emotions through glitched and chaotic image-making. Each section pairs my personal family recipes to a stress-related emotion, as well as research about the topic. Mental illness, like recipes, are sometimes passed down through generations. This project includes family photographs, original watercolor and digital illustrations, and research about mental health in America. The entire publication can be viewed electronically below.
